Already four weeks in? How time flies when you're having fun..!
Somehow our last monthly post was missed, so I guess we must have been busy. But it's all been pretty wonderful so far...
So if "a picture paints a thousand words" here are a few thousand of them - in the form of joyous photos taken over the last month.
Some in Francavilla, or at the old monastery in Fano over a weekend with friends from other Youth With A Mission centres in Italy.
Good food, great company and above all the freedom of the VERY Good News - see our ice-cream flavours!
With just one month behind us and two to go there is still so much to look forward to. Each week until 10th May (the next 6 weeks)
we have teachers coming to encourage us all - from the Netherlands, Switzerland, the USA, Australia and the UK - but in April we're hosting "Glory at the Beach". If you can make it, we'd SO love to see you here.
...and what's next?
Just this morning we took some time as a group, talking about the various outreaches being planned for the months of June and July.
Three diverse communities were instrumental in making this school happen - one in Bern, Switzerland, one in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA and the third in Edinburgh, Scotland - and we plan to be able to serve each of them by sending a team to support their work.
Bern has a number of projects in India, Fort Wayne regularly serves in Mexico and the smaller community in Edinburgh has a large summer festival in late July that we can send a team to help prepare for, as well as helping people in their local area.
So India, Mexico and the UK are the three destinations, and we will be leading the UK team. Everyone is currently considering which group they want to join, and we are also looking at other places in Britain where we can be useful for the month of June. So far we're thinking of a friend's fledgling Community Hub in Sheffield, and also the possibility of joining our good friends the Harrisons on the Isle of Man during the TT races, when they transform into the 'Street Angels', caring for anyone having a hard time late at night.
Thanks for reading this far, we hope it's given you some idea of how things are going with us here. When you have time, please let us know what you're up to as well, we'd love to hear from you!
We're both in excellent health, loving what we are doing (whilst waiting expectantly for the weather to improve - we are told it's been an unusually cold spring), and happy to see our local cafés, restaurants and gelaterias re-opening after the winter break.
If you'd like a summer holiday in beautiful Francavilla al Mare (without us) our little beachside apartment will be empty and available in June and July, with cheap Ryanair flights too.
